Estill County board approves BG-1 filing to pursue state funding for new school; cost figures in transcript unclear

Tammy Hardy moved to approve the BG-1; Carrie Smallwood seconded. The board approved the motion on a roll-call vote: Tammy Hardy — yes; Carrie Smallwood — yes; Sheila Samples — yes; Donna Isford — yes. The motion carried 4-0.
Board members and staff did not provide an alternate, clarified total project budget during the meeting. Brock said additional site and preparatory work was expected and that the BG-1 can be revised to reflect updated costs. The board did not take any other formal action on contracts, bonds or a construction timeline at the session.
