The Eugene City Council opened a public hearing on Jan. 21 to receive comment on the city’s annual withdrawal of annexed properties from special service districts. Assistant City Manager staff said the 2025 batch contains 10 annexations that were approved by the council throughout 2024 and that the hearing was for public comment only.
No members of the public registered to speak at the hearing; the council closed the hearing after a brief wait. The assistant city manager and the mayor reminded the public that deliberations and potential action on the withdrawals are scheduled for Feb. 10, 2025.
The hearing record was closed before the council moved on to the next agenda items. No formal vote or decision on the withdrawals occurred during the Jan. 21 meeting.
