Bob Schall, chairman of Ohio Symmtronics, told meeting attendees that the company makes electrical-measurement equipment and provides “traceability back to the federal government so you know what you’re getting is actually what’s promised.”
Schall said Ohio Symmtronics receives customer requests that the engineering team reviews and adapts from the company’s roughly 22,000 existing units. “We work with a variety of industries,” he said. “It starts with us getting a request from a customer, which our engineering team then looks at from our some 22,000 units we’ve already built, modify it to match that customer’s need, prototype it here, and then we’ll take it and manufacture it in volume to meet the customer’s needs.”
He described the company’s development timeline as frequently faster than competitors: “We have the ability to develop something in a few weeks. Most people are doing that over the course of 6 to 9 months,” Schall said. He said the firm currently employs 66 associates and that moving “out here to Hilliard was really a significant advantage for us because it offered us the space that we needed.”
The remarks focused on the company’s manufacturing capabilities, rapid prototyping and the operational benefits of the Hilliard location. Schall did not specify any immediate hiring plans, expansion timeline or specific contracts during his comments.
