A city-affiliated report to the Yukon Route 66 Main Street board said the city issued nine new business licenses in December and described several commercial and residential projects in planning or permitting stages.
Danielle O'Neil, the design point chair who delivered the city report, said, “We have had a total of 9 new business licenses, since just for the month of December.” She said Entegris is planning an expansion of the current hospital and “just finished the final plat stages,” which will go to city council for final approval after planning commission review. O'Neil said building permits were issued for a Goddard School facility planned for Yukon and that several housing developments, industrial warehouse/office uses and a Mercy veil clinic are in various planning stages.
Separately, board members reported recent construction work in the downtown area is complete. Vicky Davis noted that “the concrete pouring at the Yukon Sunset has been completed,” and said cones remain in place while the concrete cures. A board speaker also reported that Main Street construction has finished and acknowledged the work had been “a really tough time for our businesses in that area,” urging continued support for local retailers during recovery from holiday season slowdowns.
Pam Shelton of the Chamber of Commerce and Rick Acchini of the Veterans Museum were listed on the agenda but did not attend and did not submit reports. No formal city approvals or council votes were recorded in the board meeting minutes for these items; O'Neil said the Entegris final plat still requires city council action.
Board members said they will monitor permitting and upcoming council agendas for developments that require the board's participation in outreach or event coordination.
