District staff updated trustees on the student transportation services RFP (RFP 2526‑01‑S‑30). The RFP was advertised on the district’s electronic bidding platform and in the Times Record News; staff reported four responsive proposals and said the bid evaluation team included district administrators and special education representatives.
The evaluation occurred Jan. 6 and the two top scorers were invited for in‑person meetings that took place the morning of the board meeting. Staff said the award will be presented for board action on Jan. 21 after further calculations and evaluation; the contract will cover regular home‑to‑school routes and may be up to five years in length depending on the selected proposal.
Trustees asked whether the proposals reflect changes in routes and bell times from new schools; staff said the proposals account for nine to ten new routes added this school year and that the scoring committee will evaluate route impacts as part of the recommendation. No award or contract was approved at the meeting; staff will return with a recommendation and the committee’s scoring for board action on Jan. 21.
