The Plano ISD Board of Trustees unanimously approved revisions to policy CFC (Local) on Jan. 21 that staff said align the district's internal audit charter with updated global internal-audit standards.
Dr. Celinda Freeman told trustees the policy changes update the district's internal-audit charter so the internal-audit function "remains compliant with the latest professional guidance, supports best practices and audit operations and maintains a framework that meets expectations." She presented the item for adoption on second reading.
Dr. Lauren Tyra moved to adopt CFC (Local) on second reading; Jerry Chambers seconded. The motion carried unanimously 7-0.
What the policy change does - The revisions update internal-audit language in district policy to reflect current professional standards and the district's audit charter. Trustees approved the changes on second reading; staff said the changes strengthen the district's audit framework and ensure ongoing compliance with professional guidance.
