The commission also recommended annexations and rezones that will come before the council: a property at 3106 South Stanford Street (annexation to RS 8.5; council hearing scheduled April 7), a Bizule annexation (to RS 6 with a conditional use permit for a duplex; April 7), Lindstrom annexation to Community Business (BC) for a future fuel station off Ustick Road (April 7), a rezone off Grays Lane (from RS 18 to RS 6; small parcel, approximately half an acre; hearing April 21), Kolchak annexation to RS 6 at 11281 Moss Lane, and a commercial annexation to IL for flex-space at the National annexation (scheduled for April 21).
What staff said Ashby told the council the city is receiving more voluntary annexation requests as utilities reach new areas and the city grows. He emphasized the commission’s role in recommending conditions such as future lot splits or infrastructure commitments as appropriate.
Ending Ashby closed by inviting council questions; the council had none at the time, and staff said they will continue to bring these items forward for council hearings in April.
