Fayette County approves $279,808.37 drawdown for Poulton water tank replacement

FAYETTE COUNTY — The Fayette County Commission voted to approve a pay application of $279,808.37 to contractor C.J. Hughes for work on the Poulton water tank replacement, a project funded through the Community Development Block Grant program.
County staff presented the request as “resolution number 11,” saying the construction work is complete and the county will finish administrative paperwork before the grant program issues a closeout letter. Leslie Taylor, county staff, told commissioners the contractor’s final pay application has not yet arrived and that the county expects “at least one and maybe two more draws” before the project is closed out.
The payment covers a contractor pay request listed at $279,808.37. Taylor said staff anticipates finishing the draw requests and required reports by mid‑April, at which time the CDBG monitor will review programmatic and financial compliance and issue a formal closeout letter.
Commissioners moved and seconded the drawdown request; the motion carried with an affirmative vote.
The commission did not adopt additional conditions on the payment. Staff said they will present final closeout paperwork to the commission after the monitor completes its review.
