Aaron Public Library reopens in temporary East Geneva Street location

Library director Michelle Carter said the Aaron Public Library completed a two-week move to a temporary location on East Geneva Street, opened Monday, and has programming and study rooms in limited space.
Michelle Carter, Aaron Public Library director, told the Delavan Common Council that the library has completed its move to a temporary location on East Geneva Street and opened Monday.
"We have done it in two weeks," Carter said. "The weather has cooperated and we are ahead of schedule." She said basic services are operating; the copiers are "a little wonky" and staff are addressing the issue. The temporary site has a Discover Zone with interactive toys for youth, a small teen program area and two study rooms that staff carved out by doubling and tripling up office space. Carter said the study rooms are already being booked by the Literacy Council.
Carter thanked the council for approving the temporary location, the street department for assistance with the move and the library staff for their work packing and preparing the space. No changes to regular library hours were announced in the meeting.
Ending Carter invited residents to visit the new temporary location during regular library hours; the council's library-board report noted the board's next meeting is Thursday, Feb. 20 at 4:30 p.m.
