The Village Board on Jan. 21 approved two agreements with HR Green for preliminary and design engineering for resurfacing projects (Wheeler Road STP project and June Road STP project) and approved a multi‑year actuarial services contract for the village’s other post‑employment benefits (OPEB) study.
Greg (staff) said the projects were similar and that there is a current surplus of transportation funds available; the village is positioning projects for grant funding as it did in the previous year. Trustee questions about expected extra costs were met with staff answers that actual additional amounts vary and that monies returned to the funding pool are often reallocated when not immediately needed.
The board approved the Wheeler Road and June Road engineering agreements by unanimous roll calls.
The board also approved a four‑year actuarial services contract for OPEB work (fiscal years 2025 through 2028). Staff said the new contract represents a 15% increase over the prior contract, noting market changes since the earlier contract; the full‑study year fee was stated and an in‑between year fee was smaller. Trustees approved the actuarial contract by roll call, 5‑0.
