A City Council committee approved a resolution Jan. 21 authorizing the sale of a city-owned parcel at 272 Jacoby Avenue to a nearby resident who said the lot had once been in the family and would be maintained.
Rodney Tate Jr., City of Memphis Real Estate, described the parcel as surplus city property and said the buyer intended to keep the lot for maintenance and upkeep; the property formerly had a residence but is now a vacant lot. Committee members moved and seconded the sale resolution and the committee voted to approve it.
Ending — Staff said proceeds would be processed through city real-estate procedures and the parcel would be transferred to the purchaser.
