Anacortes Planning Commission approves minutes, excuses absent commissioner and elects officers

The Anacortes Planning Commission on Jan. 22 approved the minutes from its Oct. 9, 2024 meeting, voted to excuse Commissioner McCombs’ absence and elected officers for 2025.
Approval of minutes: Commissioner Will Mills moved to approve the Oct. 9, 2024 minutes “as presented,” and the motion was seconded; the commission approved the minutes by voice vote.
Excused absence: Commissioner Stoneman moved, and Commissioner Mills seconded, to excuse Commissioner McCombs, who was on a business trip. The motion carried by voice vote.
Officer elections: Commissioners nominated Linda Martin for chair and Will Mills for vice chair. Martin’s nomination was seconded and approved by voice vote. Mills was nominated and seconded for vice chair and was elected by voice vote.
Ending: The newly elected officers will preside over upcoming agenda items including the comprehensive plan update.
