Clifton Heights approves three-year police contract with FOP Lodge 27

Clifton Heights Borough Council voted to approve a three-year contract between the borough and FOP Lodge 27 covering Jan. 1, 2025, through Dec. 31, 2027.
Town staff said the agreement includes roughly 3.75% raises over each of the three years to make borough salaries more competitive with neighboring municipalities. The contract adds a line-of-duty survivor provision that extends benefits to an officer’s spouse and children in the event of a line-of-duty death. Borough staff said the borough absorbed an increase in Blue Cross Blue Shield costs this year within the contract’s costs and that funding for the first year is included in the current budget.
Council members, the mayor and others praised the borough’s police department and the negotiated settlement. Suzanne (identified as a borough representative in the meeting) summarized the salary increases and contract terms; the mayor and other council members expressed support for the chief and the department.
Mister Braun moved approval and Mister Cannon seconded. The council conducted a roll-call vote; the council recorded affirmative votes from the named members in the transcript and the motion carried.
