Selectmen approve multiple permits, accept donation and clear routine warrants

The Wolfeboro Board of Selectmen on Jan. 22 approved several temporary event permits, accepted a $10,400 furniture donation for the new Public Safety Building and approved routine minutes and manifest items.
The board voted unanimously to grant temporary event permits to the Friends of the Wolfeboro Community Bandstand for Saturday evening concerts July 5–Aug. 30, 2025 (Permit 2025-07); to the First Congregational Church of Wolfeboro for an Easter sunrise service on April 20, 2025 (Permit 2025-08); to the same church for a Blessing of the Boats service on May 31, 2025 (Permit 2025-09, date corrected from applicant); and for weekly Sunday worship services at Kate Park from June 1–Oct. 5, 2025 (Permit 2025-10). Each permit was conditioned on submission of current liability insurance when due; applicants confirmed they have policies on file and will provide renewed certificates in June.
The board accepted, by vote, a donation of furniture valued at $10,400 from Green Mountain Furniture for the Fire & Rescue Department and authorized acceptance under the unanticipated funds statute cited in the public notice. Deputy Fire Chief Nate Nichols described the donation and confirmed the department’s gratitude.
Separately the board approved routine minutes (Jan. 8, Jan. 13, Jan. 15) with amendments as noted on the record, approved bulk manifests for the weeks of Jan. 10 and Jan. 17 and heard the finance director’s preliminary December actuals vs. budget report.
In other action the Selectmen approved an emergency purchase to replace a rope tow at the Abenaki ski area, to be funded from the park’s capital reserve, and approved other non-controversial agenda housekeeping items.
