St. Paul Park council approves consent agenda, adopts resolution accepting $430 in donations

The council voted to waive the reading of the Jan. 6, 2025 meeting minutes and then approved a consent agenda that included acknowledging public works commission minutes from Dec. 3, 2024; authorizing a recruitment agreement with David Drown Associates to search for a new public works supervisor; approving a grant agreement with the Met Council for a Lions Levy Park pedestrian bridge; issuing a lawful gambling permit for Saint Thomas on March 29, 2025; approving a temporary liquor license for Saint Thomas on April 27, 2025; and approving a tobacco or liquor license for Duffy’s. The council also paid routine bills. The consent agenda passed on a 4-0 vote.
Councilmembers then adopted Resolution No. 1735, accepting donations totaling $430 to the city for the fourth quarter. The donations were identified by staff as coming from the Parks and Recreation Commission and Duffy’s related to a “bowl with the badge” event. The resolution was adopted on a 4-0 vote.
During reports, councilmembers noted openings on the Public Safety Commission and Parks and Recreation Commission and invited residents to apply. The planning commission meeting scheduled for the month had been canceled, with the next planning meeting set for Monday, Feb. 10 at 7 p.m. The Parks and Recreation Commission’s next meeting was noted as Feb. 13. Councilmembers also promoted a community Winterfest event organized by the Lions Club with activities including boot hockey and ice skating, scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 8; attendees were directed to the Lions Club Facebook page for details, and one speaker noted the event had been shared by local businesses.
No public commenters spoke during the public comment period, and there was no substantive additional debate recorded on the consent items or the donations resolution. The meeting was adjourned following routine business.
