Sherburne County commissioners voted Jan. 21 to amend the 2025 meeting schedule so a regularly scheduled Tuesday meeting will instead be held on Thursday to accommodate attendance at the National Association of Counties (NACo) conference.
The change was proposed to avoid cutting short participation on the NACo conference’s final day. Bruce (staff) told commissioners the organization had moved substantive items to the conference’s last day, and shifting the board meeting by two days would let attendees take part in NACo while still attending the county meeting. "Their actual capital day of action is the last day at this time," he said.
The board approved the calendar amendment by voice vote with no recorded opposition. Staff said the revised annual calendar will be published and any later changes will be republished as required by county meeting-notice rules.
The reschedule also affects travel planning for county representation at the AMC leadership and later federal lobbying trips; staff asked commissioners to notify administrators about intended conference attendance so travel and appointment schedules can be arranged.
