The St. Louis City Health and Human Development Committee on Jan. 16 approved committee minutes from Nov. 21, 2024, and postponed a scheduled presentation by St. Louis City Unhoused Services after the invited speaker asked to be excused, Chair Boyd said.
The meeting was called to order at 9:10 a.m. Chair Boyd led a roll call that established a quorum. "We have 3 present. We have quorum," Chair Boyd said. A committee member moved to approve the Nov. 21, 2024 meeting minutes — "So I move that we approve the meetings of Thursday, November 21, 2024. 2nd" — and the motion passed with three aye votes recorded. Audio problems briefly prevented the committee from hearing Alderman Ballmer; the chair and committee accepted his vote as aye on the minutes.
Chair Boyd said the committee had scheduled a presentation by St. Louis City Unhoused Services but that the person who requested the speaker "asked to be excused," and asked the committee to reschedule. "I'm gonna ask if we could circle back around to ask them to come back at a later date," Chair Boyd said. No new date for the presentation was announced during the meeting.
A brief motion to adjourn followed and the committee ended the meeting. No substantive discussion of program content, budget, policy decisions, or timelines for St. Louis City Unhoused Services occurred during the session.
Minutes approval and the postponed presentation were the only substantive agenda matters addressed. The committee did not provide further details about why the invited speaker was excused or when the presentation will be rescheduled.
