The Board of Mayor and Aldermen on Jan. 21 approved an amendment to Ordinance 24-22 that adds $260,000 to the FY2025 budget to repair a golf course pond and to purchase related equipment.
City staff told the board that the amendment includes an increase over previously discussed funding and that it covers both equipment purchase and pond repairs. "There is a $260,000 amendment, which includes originally the 170," a staff member said, adding that staff had discussed the need with board members and that the requester would proceed if funds were available.
Alderman Hubbard moved to adopt the amendment; Vice Mayor Harris seconded. The board voted on the amendment and then on Ordinance 24-22 as amended; both votes were recorded as 7 to 0 in the transcript.
Staff said the amendment reflects ongoing operational needs for irrigation and pond maintenance at the municipal golf course; the packet included an amended exhibit for the board’s review. The approved action directs the city to process the amended exhibit and to proceed with equipment procurement and pond repairs under the Parks & Recreation and Finance departments.
