The Oak Creek Common Council on Jan. 21 approved a conditional-use permit for Transport Refrigeration to operate equipment sales, automotive body and mechanical repair, and outdoor storage at 6925 South 6th Street.
Community Development Director Christie Lane told the council the business would occupy the majority of an existing building (suites 2, 3, 4 and 5) and that outdoor storage and work would be in the rear of the site, not visible from 6th Street. The conditions and restrictions included that outdoor storage be limited to designated areas; 30 striped parking spaces would be provided for semi trailers; outdoor storage would be limited to a maximum of 30 semi trailers or straight trucks; the traffic volume to and from the site may not exceed 10 trips per day; and hours of operation would be 7 a.m. to midnight.
Lane said the site meets municipal parking requirements and that Planning Commission recommended approval at its Dec. 10 meeting. The council adopted the resolution approving the conditional-use permit by roll call vote.
