Board reappoints Mike Griffin to conservation board, names John A. Orange to board of adjustment

At its Jan. 21 meeting the Jackson County Board of Supervisors reappointed Michael Griffin to the county conservation board for a five-year term expiring Dec. 31, 2029, and filled a vacancy on the board of adjustment by appointing John A. Orange to a term expiring May 6, 2026.
The conservation-board reappointment was moved and seconded, and the board approved the reappointment by voice vote. Michael (Mike) Griffin was present on Zoom and acknowledged the reappointment.
The board also considered multiple reappointments to local fire-district trustee positions but left those items tabled: staff reported they had mailed contact forms and had mailing addresses for nominees but lacked phone numbers for several trustees and had not yet obtained confirmations. Supervisors said they preferred to confirm willingness to serve before making appointments.
For the board of adjustment vacancy, the board approved John A. Orange by motion (moved by Mike Steinas; seconded by Don Schwenker). Both appointments were approved by voice vote.
