Jackson County approves 28E agreement with Macaukada to fund Prairie Creek Recreation Center

Jackson County supervisors on Jan. 21 approved authorizing the chair and county auditor to sign a 28E joint public service agreement with the city of Macaukada to define financial and legal responsibilities related to the Prairie Creek Recreation Center.
A county representative said the county intends to pay $50,000 budgeted in fiscal year 2025 and has included $70,000 in the next year’s budget; payments are expected to be completed after July 1 and before the close of the fiscal year. The county attorney reviewed the agreement language and approved it for presentation; the presenter said the city’s representative, Nate, would take the agreement to his board as well.
The board approved the authorization by motion (moved by Mike Steinas; seconded by Don Schwenker) and voted to proceed. No further conditions or amendments were recorded in the minutes.
