Guthrie City Council on Jan. 21 approved Ordinance No. 3418 to rezone property at 1016 West Warner Avenue from R1 to R2 to allow an accessory dwelling unit.
Dan presented the item and said the property is currently the Stone Lion Inn. "The property owner is looking to rezone to R2 because they are wanting to put an accessory dwelling unit," he said. The Planning Commission had recommended approval by a 3-0 vote, and staff reported no written objections to the rezoning.
Council acknowledged a recusal by the vice mayor on this item; the council proceeded with the vote among eligible members and approved the ordinance. The applicant was not present for the hearing. The motion to adopt Ordinance No. 3418 passed by unanimous approval from those present and eligible to vote.
Ending: The zoning change allows the owner to pursue an accessory dwelling unit under R2 standards; the council record does not include further plan details or a stated construction timeline.
