Planning staff presented the commission’s 2024 annual report and commissioners voted to forward the document to Allentown City Council, subject to minor updates requested by members.
“Section 207 of the MPC requires the planning commission to keep a full record of its activities and issue a written report to the governing body,” staff member Jillian said while outlining the report’s contents, which the backup describes as a month-by-month list of agenda items and actions and a snapshot of land developments nearing expiration of time extensions.
Commissioners suggested adding additional summary metrics—such as residential unit counts, square footage by use and a future-year “look back” status column showing whether listed projects were built, under construction, or inactive—and staff indicated those edits could be made before transmittal. After brief discussion, a motion to forward the 2024 report to city council passed by voice vote.
Staff will update the report per commissioner comments prior to transmission to city council; no additional conditions were recorded.
