Allentown planning commissioners elect officers and mark departure of long-serving member

Commission members praised Brown’s tenure during a brief tribute. “It’s certainly been a pleasure. It’s it’s bittersweet,” Damian Brown said, reflecting on his service. The mayor also attended briefly to thank Brown for his advocacy for pedestrian safety, calling that work “incredibly important.”
The commission conducted nominations in the open meeting and approved each position by voice vote. Chris Brown nominated himself for chair, the nomination was seconded and carried. Craig Beavers accepted a nomination and was approved as vice chair. Jeff Glaser was nominated and approved as secretary.
Commissioners noted past holders of the posts: Chris Brown as outgoing chair, Damian Brown as outgoing vice chair and Anthony Toth previously serving as secretary. No formal staffing or policy changes were recorded beyond the officer appointments.
