Oklahoma County commissioners on Jan. 22 approved an addendum to an existing memorandum of understanding with the district court to allow up to $5,000 from the court fund to be used for digital signage in courtrooms.
County staff explained the court fund includes a $250,000 category set aside for courtroom improvements. The addendum would reclassify part of that set-aside — previously anticipated for items such as window treatments and flooring — to purchase digital signage. The addendum and an accompanying change order require two signatures from the board chair and from district court representatives; staff said Judge Ogden and Renee (court staff) had already signed their portions.
A commissioner moved to approve the addendum and the motion carried by voice vote. Staff said the reclassification avoids requesting additional county funding because other funding sources within the court fund are available to cover the signage expense.
