Wells described the district courthouse building operating system as at the end of its useful life and requiring controller and software replacement to maintain heating, cooling and ventilation functions. He said the county staff are also preparing scope and procurement documents for a larger envelope restoration of the historic county courthouse (the “envelope” work covers facade, roof and related exterior systems). The timeline discussed in the meeting targeted construction work to begin in calendar year 2026 with continued activity into 2027 and 2028, subject to occupancy and courthouse operations.
