Artifacts, a muralist, said at Art House 360 in Verona that they designed and painted a mural titled "Imagination," which is currently being installed at the venue.
"I'm Artifacts, the muralist who just designed and painted, Imagination, which is the name of, the piece that's going up right now," Artifacts said, describing the work and their background painting in cities including Barcelona.
Artifacts told attendees the piece took about two months to complete and is the most intricate mural they have created. "This 1 in particular took about 2 months to paint. It's the most, intricate that I've done," the artist said. They described the mural as built from "about 5 layers, 5 different, I would say, parts of the design," and said a number of moving parts aligned to help the project come to life.
Speaking at the Art House 360 space, Artifacts said the project is intended to strengthen local ties among artists and the broader community. "They reached out, and they've been putting this space together to build a community for artists," Artifacts said, adding that the work is meant as "a gift to everyone" to encourage introspection and connection.
The artist noted the installation conditions during remarks: attendees were seated while outside temperatures were about 40 degrees in January with no snow on the ground. Artifacts concluded by expressing pride in the work and gratitude for the opportunity: "I feel blessed to be here and blessed to be doing what I love. And I worked my **** off to get here, and I am very proud of myself too. So thank you everyone, and much love."
