The Deer Park City Council on Wednesday approved a package of infrastructure and planning items, including a citywide sewer-model update, the abandonment of a legacy utility easement tied to the Shamrock Glen Phase 6 development, and an increase to the city's airport management agreement. The council also adopted a resolution that adds a solar-panel review to city processes.
The most significant technical item was approval of task order 2025-02 with JUB Engineering to update the city's sewer model and bring the 2017 system plan up to current mapping and flow conditions. Clint Jewery, identified on the roll call as city staff, said the update will "bring everything from 2017 up to speed to 2024" and will identify areas that may be inadequate as growth increases. "We're gonna be looking at trying to identify areas that are maybe inadequate ... to make sure that it can handle increased flows," Jewery said.
The council approved the task order on a motion and recorded the motion as carried.
