At its Jan. 16 meeting Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD trustees unanimously approved a board resolution authorizing pay for employees for the district's emergency closure on Jan. 9 and 10 due to inclement weather.
The resolution states the board determines a public-school purpose for excusing or forgiving employee absences caused by the closure and directs that all employees be compensated for their regularly scheduled duty days during the emergency closure, except for employees who were required to work during the closure but were absent for reasons unrelated to the closure.
The resolution also directs that non-exempt employees required to work on school property during the closure be paid at the overtime rate (1.5 times regular pay) for hours worked up to 40 hours per week in accordance with board policy DEA (local). The board authorized the superintendent to take necessary steps to implement the resolution.
Trustees moved and approved the resolution by unanimous vote.
