Key goal targets cited in the presentation include a May 2025 target for a staffing and budgeting plan to produce a balanced budget, a 2027 goal that 100% of campus and district leaders will support and communicate high expectations for student learning, and aspirational targets for student achievement and access to innovative programs.
Dr. Rios said the presentation was introductory; the board will review the goals and strategies at a planned team‑of‑eight training on Feb. 3 and may provide edits to goal wording or strategies at that session. He emphasized that the plan’s strategies—how progress will be measured—will determine whether the goals are appropriate.
The board did not vote on the plan at the Jan. 21 meeting; Dr. Rios said this was an initial presentation ahead of more detailed discussion and alignment with superintendent goals.
