APS Board accepts activity fund internal audit reports

The Albuquerque Public Schools Board of Education voted Jan. 21, 2025, to accept internal audit reports covering activity funds for the period July 1, 2024, through Dec. 13, 2024.
Board member Heather Benavides moved to accept the reports, saying, "I move that we accept the activity fund internal audit reports for the period of July 1, 2024 through December 13, 2024." Board member Josefina Dominguez seconded the motion.
A roll-call vote followed. Heather Benavides, Josefina Dominguez, Dara Shonka McCoy, Savannah Visaraga, Renette Apodaca, Gabriela Blakey and Courtney Jackson each voted yes, and the motion carried.
Meeting participants earlier said the board met in executive session on Jan. 21, 2025, "as authorized by the public meetings act section 10 dash 15 dash 1 h 2 and nmac2.2.2.10j3" to discuss limited personnel matters in connection with activity fund audits. The board then considered acceptance of the activity fund internal audit reports for the period noted above.
Board staff announced the next Audit Committee meeting will be Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at 5 p.m., to be held virtually and streamed on the APS Board of Education YouTube channel. The board adjourned after the vote.
