The Story County Board of Supervisors met Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2025, and approved an amended agenda after the board pulled consent item number 2, passed routine minutes and personnel actions, and approved the consent agenda as amended. The board had no public comments and outlined upcoming budget review sessions and committee meetings.
The board opened the meeting and conducted the pledge of allegiance before noting one change to the agenda: consent item number 2 would be pulled. The board then moved to adopt the agenda as amended and approved the motion. The board approved the previous meeting minutes and subsequently approved personnel actions.
Under the consent agenda the board voted to approve the remaining consent items as amended; the pulled consent item was not acted on during this meeting. There were no public hearing items, and no members of the public addressed the board during the two public comment periods.
Supervisors used the announcements portion of the meeting to list several upcoming items and meetings: an assessor's office recognition, initial budget reviews starting Monday (including capital improvement program and sheriff's office items), an Iowa State Association of Counties (ISAC) legislative webinar, Story County Economic Development quarterly meeting, CICS advisory and workforce meetings, and a Community of Excellence Advisory Committee meeting. One supervisor also mentioned attendance at a new local online news venture and several workforce-related meetings.
With no further business the board voted to adjourn.
Votes and formal actions recorded in the meeting transcript include adoption of the agenda as amended, approval of minutes, approval of personnel actions, approval of the consent agenda as amended, and adjournment. Specific named yes votes appear in the transcript for several motions; the transcript records supervisors saying “Aye” during roll calls associated with those motions.
