- Public nuisance abatement: Council approved abatement and lien actions for multiple properties including 605 Bragg Street, 1338 Crosslink Road and 619 Cumberland Street. Staff said those properties had repeated code-enforcement contacts, and the city moved forward with abatement work where owners did not respond; staff noted total lien amounts on some properties (one property was cited as having a cumulative total of about $40,000 since 2011).
- Appointments and reappointments: Council approved multiple committee and board actions: reappointment of Michael Dunn (Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Commission), Robert Bennett (Environmental Advisory Board), appointment of Daniel Lamar Grant King to Fair Housing Hearing Board (tenant slot), Anna Rios to Hispanic and Immigrant Affairs Board (alternate), elevation of Alicia Taylor from alternate to regular member on the Human Relations Commission, reappointments to the Parks, Recreation and Greenway Advisory Board, and elevation of Byron Leek to a regular slot on the Raleigh Transit Authority. Several other nominations and vacancies were placed on the next ballot for council consideration.
All recorded approvals in the meeting were taken by voice vote; the record shows the motions carried and did not include roll-call tallies in the public transcript.
Council also authorized the city manager to execute the Alliance Health contract and to transfer budget funds to support the Raleigh Cares pilot (see separate article for program details).
