The Clay County Board of Commissioners approved Resolution 2025‑06 to authorize Clay County to enroll future qualifying variable‑hour part‑time deputies in the Public Employees Retirement Association (PERA) police and fire fund.
Anna Moore, human resources director, told the board the county currently has six deputies and that three were already enrolled in the PERA police and fire fund. Moore said an updated resolution is required because the last county resolution dated 2001 named specific deputy individuals rather than the position; the new resolution lists the position so subsequent hires are covered as intended. Moore said there is no additional budget cost because contributions for qualifying deputies were already budgeted.
Commissioner Ebinger moved to approve Resolution 2025‑06; Commissioner Bair seconded and the motion carried by oral vote.
