Committee backs $960,000 pilot to fund Veterans Day school assemblies

Fillmore answered that the bill does not specify a line-item for materials; the award is intended to offset costs of an assembly (staff time, recruiting veterans, providing refreshments) and is structured as a $1,000 award to each school that holds a Veterans Day assembly during the week of Veterans Day.
A motion to send SB 88 out with a favorable recommendation was made by Sen. Pinkett and approved unanimously by the committee.
