Committee clears $150,000 transfer to cover HR consulting after director vacancies

Fennessy told the committee full-time salaries currently show an available balance of $355,319.18 (about 14% of the line) while the year-to-date salary expense is about half of the budget; the transfer will support hiring a permanent HR director and finish current recruitment. The motion to recommend the transfer passed by hand vote; mover and seconder were not specified in the transcript.
The committee was told the city is in the final stages of interviews for a permanent HR director and that the consultant contract will be used while appointments are finalized.
