SpaBlue massage license approved for downtown Saint Charles City location

The Saint Charles City Government Operations Committee on Jan. 21 approved a massage license for SpaBlue at the northeast corner of West Main Street and Second Street.
Deputy Chief Majewski said SpaBlue appeared earlier before the Local Liquor Commission with a unanimous recommendation for approval. The applicant, Tammy Coakley, is renovating the space and Majewski said the business is slated to open around March 1.
Majewski told the committee, on the record, that "business will offer hair service, veil service, skin care services, associated retail products and massage." He also noted SpaBlue has two other locations, in West Dundee and South Barrington.
A motion to approve was made by WerBell and seconded by Petrillo; the motion carried on a voice vote. No special conditions or additional restrictions were recorded during the committee discussion.
The committee moved on after confirming the background investigation found nothing to prohibit issuance of the license.
