Committee approves Class B1 liquor license for Foxborough Plaza restaurant

The Saint Charles City Government Operations Committee on Jan. 21 approved a Class B1 standard-restaurant liquor license for a new tenant at Foxborough Plaza at the northeast corner of East Main and Dunham Road.
Deputy Chief Majewski told the committee the Local Liquor Commission earlier unanimously recommended approval. The applicant, identified in the record as Malik, is renovating the tenant space and indicated the business is slated to open around April 1. Majewski said a background investigation found no disqualifying information.
Majewski described the proposed business as an Indian cuisine restaurant that would serve beer, wine and spirits. The applicant was present to answer questions. A motion to approve was made by WerBell and seconded by Vanguard; the motion carried on a voice vote.
No special conditions or additional restrictions were recorded during the committee discussion.
The committee proceeded to the next agenda item after the vote.
