Liberty students earn dozens of All‑State honors in music and theater

The Liberty Public Schools Board of Education honored students and staff Tuesday for statewide All‑State honors in music and theater.
Board members recognized that 31 students from Liberty High School and Liberty North High School were selected this year to participate in the Missouri Music Educators Association (MMEA) All‑State band, choir and orchestra programs. The board also noted individual achievements, including a Liberty High senior who was selected in three categories, and elementary students named to the All‑State Children’s Choir.
The district said two ensembles were invited to perform at the MMEA conference: the Liberty High School Chamber Orchestra and the Liberty North High School Concert Choir. Board members and staff described selection to the conference as a “significant honor” and “an opportunity to showcase musical excellence.”
Trustees observed short video introductions from some students selected to All‑State ensembles and recognized theater students chosen for the All‑State Thespians Musical, including seven students who performed in Sweet Charity at the Stifel Theatre in St. Louis. The board presented certificates to students who attended in person.
The recognition segment concluded with the board thanking music and theater instructors and administrators for their preparation and support.
