At the Jan. 15 meeting the Corte Madera Town Climate Action Committee shared short administrative updates and a personal announcement from a long‑serving member.
Town staff announced the town will co‑host a repair fair and clothing swap on Saturday, Feb. 8, 1–4 p.m., in partnership with 0 Waste Marin and the nonprofit Reuse Alliance; staff asked for volunteer help to support repair stations and clothing‑swap logistics and said they would circulate volunteer sign‑up details in the town newsletter.
Staff also informed advisory‑body members that the town will phase out official town email addresses for advisory bodies for IT‑security reasons. Members were asked to download any materials they wish to retain from those accounts before Jan. 31; going forward staff will communicate through the personal email addresses provided on committee applications unless members request an alternative.
Near the end of the meeting a committee member announced a personal decision to step down from the committee because of health issues related to long COVID and reduced availability. The member said it would be their last meeting and thanked colleagues; staff and committee members expressed public appreciation for the member’s founding contributions and leadership.
Ending: Staff will circulate the repair‑fair volunteer information and the communications manager will provide further instructions about the town‑email transition; committee members will coordinate outreach assignments and follow up on volunteer commitments and liaison briefings at the next meeting.
