Council approves consent items and votes to pull and later adopt minutes

The Corte Madera Town Council opened its Jan. 21 meeting by approving most items on the consent calendar and handling a council request to pull minutes for additional clarification. Council members agreed to pull agenda item 4b (the minutes) for discussion; after questions and a brief staff exchange about pagination and the format of minutes, the council approved consent items 4a and 4c by roll call and later voted to adopt the minutes (items 4d and 4e) after discussion.
At roll call the council recorded unanimous approval on the motions presented. Council members who voted yes were Council member Andrews; Council member Beckman; Council member Cacisa; Vice Mayor Thomas; and Mayor O'Vazio.
Council members asked staff to add more detail and linkable timestamps to minutes in future agendas, and asked staff to return with recommendations on minutes format and whether AI tools could assist with transcription (staff said automated transcription still requires staff review and the town is considering an AI policy for staff use).
