The Vermont Department of Health asked the Senate Appropriations Committee on Jan. 21 to approve a $100,000 general fund appropriation to Planned Parenthood of Northern New England to purchase medications used for medication abortion.
The department’s presentation said, “This will provide a 1 year stock of the 2 medications that are used for medication abortion, which are mifepristone and misoprostol. And that will assure uninterrupted access to care for patients,” Commissioner Mark Levine said.
