Commissioners set Jan. 6 deadline for ALS to file building plan or risk losing design reserve

Commissioners and staff said the county included design money in the CIP contingent on the ALS providing firm plans that respond to concerns raised earlier by the board, including size and siting. "You approved the funds contingent on a plan being submitted before the design monies could be spent," county staff said; ALS representatives acknowledged they were working internally but had not yet provided the formal submission.
Commissioner Morgan suggested a Jan. 1 or Jan. 6 deadline aligned to the Rescue Squad Association meeting schedule; commissioners agreed to Jan. 6 as a workable target. "If they're really eager to get a new building and get everything done, it should have been done by now," Commissioner Morgan said; the board agreed to draft a follow‑up consent letter that resets the deadline.
Ending: Staff will draft the consent letter setting a Jan. 6, 2016 deadline for the ALS to submit a complete plan to justify use of the design funds; if the ALS misses the deadline, commissioners said the CIP set‑aside could be removed or redirected.
