Council opens public hearing on PD-30 zoning request, continues item to Feb. 4 for Planning Commission review

The council opened a public hearing on a proposed zoning change from Business Park to Planned Development 30 (PD-30) to establish layout and development standards for a mixed commercial project on roughly 6.5 acres at the southeast corner of Standridge Drive and Memorial Drive, then continued the hearing to its Feb. 4 meeting.
City staff said the item had been tabled at the recent Planning and Zoning meeting so the applicant could address commission recommendations. The staff recommendation to open the hearing and carry the item forward was made to give the applicant time to respond to P&Z comments and to allow commission recommendations to be forwarded to council.
The mayor opened the public hearing and no action on the zoning change was taken; council voted to continue the public hearing and any action to the Feb. 4, 2025, meeting so Planning and Zoning could complete its review and provide a recommendation.
The item will return to council with P&Z recommendations and any applicant revisions.
