Why this matters: the decisions narrow the county’s near‑term cash commitments and preserve authority to accept grant funding if it materializes. On one signal project (Md 235/Loveville Road), state ownership determination removed the county’s cost share; another intersection project will be paid by the developer as part of APF/mitigation obligations, allowing the county to delete those line items from the FY2014 plan.
The board also heard public‑works staff say the Wildwood culvert and related utility relocations are slated for FY2014 and should proceed after utility work is complete. Commissioners instructed staff to move a small, 100‑foot sidewalk connection (Town Creek Drive to MD‑235, serving Bay Community Support Services) into FY2014 for quick completion. They also asked staff to begin outreach to the landowner for the Nicollet Park access connection and to consider advancing design into FY2014 if the landowner is cooperative.
Ending: staff will update the draft CIP to reflect the deletions and timing shifts and will include a short summary of the county’s reduced FY2014 cash needs and remaining contingent projects that depend on grant outcomes.
