Board unanimously adopts 2025 governance team goals; several routine motions passed

At its Jan. 21 meeting the Forsyth County Board of Education voted unanimously to adopt the governance team goals for 2025 after a brief introduction noting the goals were aligned closely with the district strategic plan.

The five goal areas the board adopted are: social and emotional health; learner experience; staff recruitment and development; culture, climate and community; and operational excellence. Board members were told the goals will be posted online for public access and that the district had delayed final adoption until new board members could participate in forming the goals.

Several routine motions were also approved by unanimous voice vote during the meeting. The board approved the consent agenda as submitted and later approved personnel items; members exited an executive session earlier in the meeting by voice vote. The meeting closed after a motion to adjourn moved by Mr. Grimes and seconded by Ms. Hoyes, which the board approved unanimously.
