Comcast seeks Decatur County support letters for federal BEAD broadband application

“We are asking counties to sign on as quick as possible if you’re willing,” Moore said, adding that Comcast planned to file application materials by Feb. 6 and that detailed address-level design was still being developed with the Indiana Broadband Office. When asked about rollout, a Comcast representative said buildout could take up to four years and that funding awards are likely to be released in mid-2026.
Commissioners asked technical and timing questions about whether design is address-level or polygon-level; Moore said address-level lists were still being crafted by the Indiana Broadband Office and that more precise maps would be shared with county staff.
