The Rensselaer County Legislature voted on Jan. 14, 2025 to appoint Scott A. Rogers to fill a legislative vacancy and conducted his swearing‑in during the meeting.
Legislator Cher Roman Hoffman introduced resolution P2425, a resolution appointing Scott A. Rogers to fill the vacancy on the Rensselaer County Legislature. The clerk called for the vote and the chair recorded “17 ayes” on the motion; the record shows the motion carried.
Rogers took the oath of office administered by the Hon. Linda Blom Johnson. In brief remarks after being sworn, Rogers thanked family and supporters in the chamber and said he hoped to “represent Rensselaer the best way I can.” Following the swearing‑in, the chair updated attendance to report 18 legislators present for the rest of the meeting.
The clerk was directed to have Rogers sign the official book; the appointment and oath concluded the appointment item and the legislature proceeded with its agenda.
