Aaron Vannoy, director of planning and development services, presented the petition and described the lands by survey and abstract numbers. The parcels are generally located south of U.S. 67 between Harriet Road and the U.S. 277/US 67 interchange in Tom Green County. Council approved a motion to accept the petition and set the public hearing; the vote was recorded as 7-0.
The city read the list of abstracts and acreage on the record; staff said the annexation petition will move through the required public hearing process and additional steps before final annexation action. Council did not take final annexation action at the meeting; it set the hearing date.
