The resolution passed on a roll call vote of 8‑3.
The resolution (Document ID 13034) was introduced by Legislator Veronica Piller and seconded by Legislator Shawna Black. The formal request asks the DEC to either deny the application or require an EIS that would assess all potential environmental risks associated with the proposed mining activities beneath Cayuga Lake.
